Inaugural Seminar Marks the Launch of the new MIMIT Centre for Manchester

Professionals with an interest in using new technology to improve healthcare are invited to the Manchester: Integrating Medicine and Innovative Technnology (MIMIT) Inaugural Seminar, to celebrate the start of a new centre to facilitate inter-disciplinary working between experts in medicine, science and engineering in Manchester.
The centre is a collaboration between the University of Manchester, the major NHS Teaching Hospitals in Manchester and, the originator of the multidisciplinary and integrated approach, the Centre for Integration of Medicine and Technology (CIMIT®) in Boston, USA. Through the centre, the partnership aims to:
- Identify unmet clinical problems
- Identify solutions by interdisciplinary working in the fields of technology, engineering and healthcare developments
- Identify exploitation potential in technology and engineering developments
- Share knowledge across disciplines and between institutions
- Foster innovation, enterprise and entrepreneurship
- Act as a catalyst to form collaborative relationships between academia, the NHS and Industry
TrusTECH and the University of Manchester Intellectual Property Limited (UMIP) will facilitate the commercial development of new medical products developed as a consequence of the MIMIT collaboration.
