TrusTECH recognises that not all innovations benefit from commercialisation. It is sometimes more appropriate to share innovations freely within the NHS and, with this in mind TrusTECH developed the Service Innovation Scheme.
The TrusTECH Service Innovation Scheme, set up in 2005, raises awareness of service innovations and encourages NHS staff to review and modify procedures.
Please answer the questions below if you think you're innovation falls under our service category. However, if you are unsure whether your innovation is a service or not, you may like to view our Innovation Management section here:
Is the service novel in the context of the NHS as a whole?
It is unlikely that your service will be eligible for the service innovation scheme; services that are entirely novel and services that have not been widely adopted within the NHS as a whole can be submitted to the service innovation scheme. If your service is novel within your organisation attempt to raise the profile of the service locally so that patients and staff are aware of the new service.
Is the service fully implemented in the host Trust?
Are there identifiable benefits associated with the service?
In order for the service to be eligible for the service innovation scheme there must be benefits associated with it, please refer to the assessment criteria document below for additional information. If there are no benefits associated with the service it is not suitable for the service innovation scheme.
