TrusTECH attends AUTM conference in USA

TrusTECH has been busy preparing to attend the AUTM® (Association of University Technology Managers) annual conference in Florida along with representatives from the NHS network of innovation hubs.

Intellectual property is one of the most active growth sectors in the US economy and TrusTECH will be attending the conference in order to create an active working alliance with US technology transfer professionals from the health and university sectors. Indeed, the underlying theme for this year’s meeting is ‘Partnering for Prosperity’.

TrusTECH has played a key role in developing the NHS Innovation hub exhibition presence in Florida – including coordinating the design of the exhibition stand and accompanying conference literature.

The conference draws from the global community of technology transfer professionals, researchers and other IP licensing. AUTM (Association of University Technology Managers) is a non-profit association with more than 3,200 member technology managers and business executives who represent over 300 universities, research institutions, teaching hospitals as well as a number of companies and government organisations. The conference is an ideal place to meet with technology transfer experts and to learn how IP is managed within the US healthcare and university sectors.

Further to the conference, Dr Richard Deed, TrusTECH unit manager, will be visiting technology transfer units located at the Sloan Kettering Cancer Institute and Hospital (New York), the Children’s Hospital (Boston) as well as well as meeting with technology transfer colleagues at Harvard and the University of Massachusetts.
