TrusTECH secures DTI BEP Extension Funding

dti

TrusTECH has been awarded a further two years Dti BEP* funding. The extension follows four successful years during which TrusTECH has consistently met all the objectives detailed within the original DTI BEP funding proposal, and is currently on course to exceed targets for 2004.

The funding extension will enable TrusTECH to continue to develop the pipeline of biotech and healthcare technologies identified to date and to provide valuable business services to these sectors in the North West region.

The funding will also assist in developing the flow and commercialisation of technologies from existing and new technology partnerships. Of specific focus, TrusTECH will be developing technologies from the Health Protection Agency, through the creation of technology scouts (to identify biotech and infectious disease related technologies).

TrusTECH was originally established under the DTI BEP Programme in late 2000, and has been expanded with a number of funding streams, to provide an innovation management service available to all NHS Trusts and Primary Care Trusts in the North West region. TrusTECH manages healthcare innovations and their associated intellectual property, resulting from publicly funded research and clinical practice, in order to improve healthcare and return revenue back to the NHS.
