Finalists and their teams at the North West NHS Innovation Awards Ceremony 2007The North West NHS Innovation Awards culminated with an awards ceremony on
6 November 2007, at the Lowry Theatre, Salford Quays. Eighteen finalists in the awards
(from 14 North West Trusts) were invited to attend the awards ceremony and be the first to learn who had won.

This year, the competition attracted over 200 entries from 51 Trusts in the North West. Greater Manchester and Liverpool Trusts did
particularly well in the awards (winning between them first prize in each of the competition categories). However, it is important to realise that, given the large number of entries into the awards this year, having a third, second or commended prize winner is also a significant achievement for the Trusts involved.

The competition categories were: 1) Training or Educational Materials; 2) Medical Devices, Equipment, Diagnostics or Therapeutics; 3) Software or Systems; 4) Service Improvements or Developments; and NHS North West also presented the NHS North West Award for Innovation to the for the entry (in any of the categories above) which makes, or could make, the most significant contribution to the NHS in the North West in delivering a world-class service.
