Pathfinder Funding for Speech Synthesis Pageset
Speech and Language Therapists, Lynn John and Tamsin Crothers, at Ashton, Leigh and Wigan PCT have been awarded financial support through the TrusTECH Pathfinder Development Fund.
The funding will be used to register the name of their innovation, ScanSpeak, as a Trademark owned by Ashton, Leigh and Wigan PCT and to undertake further development work to make the communication aid commercially viable.
ScanSpeak is a pageset for use on electronic communications platforms used by children and adults who cannot communicate verbally. It is designed for users with extremely limited movement and offers significant advantages over conventional communications systems.
