Periods – a Practical Guide
‘Periods – a practical guide’ is a resource used to teach young women with learning disabilities about menstruation and is now on sale. The training pack was originally developed by two community learning disabilities nurses, Mai Rees and Charlotte Carter, and Lindsay Myers, a student nurse (based at North East Wrexham NHS Trust and Conwy and Denbighshire NHS Trust) for educators to use. An illustrated purse booklet is also available to accompany the teaching.
TrusTECH assisted the Trusts in establishing clear copyright ownership in the materials and agreeing the terms of a publishing agreement with Me-and-Us Ltd, which provides royalties on sales to both Trusts. Me-and-Us Ltd is a company based in Cumbria and specialising in educational resources and training for personal, social and health education.
