TrusTECH-MIoIR Evaluation Demonstrates Value of Service Innovation Scheme

A recent pilot study undertaken by the Manchester Institute of Innovation Research (MIoIR) suggests that the
Trus
TECH
Service Innovation Scheme plays a valuable role in encouraging the uptake of innovative services by other NHS Trusts in the North West and beyond.

Over the past two years, 38 services assessed by TrusTECH have demonstrated significant benefits (increased quality of patient care, efficiency and cost savings, etc.), and have been promoted to other NHS Trusts through the Service Innovation Scheme.

The study, which reviewed a sample of cases from the Service Innovation Scheme, revealed that there was a 30 per cent adoption rate of the services studied, a considerable achievement given the short period of time the scheme has been available.

The study report also highlighted the importance of TrusTECH’s role in this process, citing that ‘[TrusTECH] served as a valuable point of contact advising over 80 per cent of Trusts which expressed an interest about adopting [services available through the scheme].’
