Building a digital ready workforce for the NHS
Health Education England, in association with NHS England and NHS Digital, are working together to improve the digital capabilities of the health and social care workforce. Around £6 million will be invested to improve the digital capabilities within the NHS over the next four years.
The programme is looking to transform the way health and care services are delivered to make them more sustainable in the future. Intelligent use of data, information, knowledge and technology, which is brought together under the title ‘digital’, is central to achieving this.
Building and Digital Ready Workforce aims to develop a culture that recognises both the need to innovate and the role that digital innovation can play in the future. The aim is to start to transform services by enabling the whole workforce to become comfortable and familiar with digital tools than enable quicker, easier, safer and high quality care.
The programme isn’t about building new tools and solutions, but understanding what digital tools are being used effectively and developing a cohesive approach across the NHS.
The three week national online workshop for digital experts and informaticians starts today, 22nd November 2017.
