Starworks – child prosthetic workshops
The NIHR Child Prosthetic Research Collaboration is pleased to announce the plans for Phase Two of the Starworks project and opportunities to be involved. Following a multi-stakeholder, in-depth needs assessment earlier in the year, four exciting workshops will be held across the country to tackle some of the biggest issues and opportunities for child prosthetic technology and service provision, including:
Socket interfaces – Salford, 18th September Upper limb personalisation and adaption – Bristol, 28th September Lower limb personalisation and adaption – London, 7th October
- Digital innovations to enhance life with prosthetics – Sheffield, 21st October
The workshops are particularly looking for children and young people with prosthetic needs, who are invited along to help steer the workshops to meet their requirements. The workshops will delivered in a fun and interesting environment, with lots of scope for sharing ideas to come up with exciting new products.
Children and families will work with healthcare professionals, academics and industry experts at these events, which offer the potential to apply for proof of concept funding to turn ideas into reality.
