Over 250,000 patients undergo major surgery annually in England and Wales. These patients are 30% more likely to suffer lung problems. This is associated with short term and long term morbidity, with increased hospital length of stay of up to 8 days and reduced life expectancy for up to 4 years after surgery.
Designed by medical professionals and using cutting edge
technology, ERAS+ (Enhanced Recovery After Surgery) is a
patient education tool which is delivered online or through
an app. ERAS+ provides support and guidance during the six
weeks pre and post surgery.
The programme encourages increased activity, better nutrition, oral healthcare and chest exercises. Focus is placed on putting the patient at the centre of their care.
